+DarkLord
You would not look at the back if it's standing with the back to the wall, would you? <lol> No, I guess not... (but inside, I would know it was there).

krupkaj
I think one can fit a Falcon board into a TT case. One has to cut holes into the back though... I remember that I saw one Falcon inside MEGA STE case. It was during Error In Line #3 in 2001 and owner of this Falcon was somebody from YES crew if I remember well. Unfortunately I am not able to find photo of this Falcon But still it does not solve everything as it its no possible to build in the CD drive for example. I know there is special case which is sitting on the right side of computer, but I have seen it only once at OFAM party this year: I have other photos of that in my gallery. krupkaj
That's a nice one. However, your server is not working properly for me. Please try it now here. I am using other hosting now, but have forgotten to change the link. Wanted to go to ofam myself as well, but I couldn't... It is a pity. It was nice party. jens
Please try it now here. I am using other hosting now, but have forgotten to change the link. Very nice pix. I missed both ofam parties. But Chris also missed my parties. It is a bit of a way for both of us, so one can't just pay a short visit. I hope I'll be there the next time. _The Doctor__
Cheers, The Falcon '030 and the Mega St's were used by Bell & Howell for their mail sorting equipment. In fact the equipment was produced for and used by the U.S. postal service. I have seen this first hand at Bell & Howell across the river in Jersey. My buddies dad worked there (may he rest in peace). And a previous employer worked there as well. . _The Doctor__ Somewhere I heard a rumor that the US Post Service used Falcons in mail sorting facilities for something or another. I'm not sure if this is still true, but if so they'd probably have most of the remaining Falcons. Tempest

doctorclu
and Atari had already intended going away from the wedge style case - although they never completed it. Look at pics for the '040/Microbox Falcon: Loved those upcoming designs. Well, honestly, the original Falcon design is fine for midi musicians. As for a desktop, I had a 1040 STE and I was recasing that. Really up to the user. In my opinion, if you're a gamer/musician/Collector, you will like the original case. If you want to try to use the Atari Falcon more seriously as a computer, you'll want to recase that and try to get a detachable keyboard. Beetle
Hi atarians, I got a Falcon without its original case/keyboard, so i put it into a TT case shell. Upgrades i already did are an 68882 FPU and the CentRAM14. ct63 to come prepared TT case with a backpart of a Falcon case. Mainboard put in, see the Jagpad / TT keyboard jack mount. You can see the replaced NVRAM button cell, too. ROMport is for inside use now, i mounted the slot facing upwards to save place for the replaced Midi-Ports i only plan to use an Ethernec that easily fits inside. assembled Falcon Jagpad jacks in assembled case Back of the Falcon's case. still needs the paintjob. i'll do that after the ATX power supply is mounted Greetings, Beetle Edited January 20, 2009 by Beetle
