MegaManFan
Anybody besides me purchase this from the PS3 Shopping Area yet? I tried the demo and it seemed good enough to drop $7.99 on, since it installs right to the console and would be available any time I turn it on for a quick game without having to get up and load a disc. I like the Asteroids style gameplay and the online high score board, but I'm getting stuck at the beginning of the second area because I can't figure out how to destroy the big spinners. Direct shots don't hurt them, slow shots using the resistor don't hurt them, I've even tried bouncing shots off the walls or pushing them into each other to no avail. I should probably just check GameFaqs.
King_Salamon
Sorry I can't help you out but seeing as you've visited the online store and have played with the PS3 online, I figured I would ask a question: Are there downloadable demos of PS3 games online as of yet? At the EB kiosk there were 4 demos to choose from and I was wondering if Sony has the 4 demos online to download and play? Mainly looking for MotorStorm demo. I suppose this is moot right now as I can't find a PS3. Oh well, planning for the new year then.

MegaManFan
There are at least 6 playable demos that you can download. Correct, and I bought Blast Factor after trying it. Cash Guns Clowns or whatever it was called didn't impress me so much - it felt like a bad rip-off of the Smash TV formula (which as we all know was itself a ripoff of Robotron 2084, but at least a good one). I'm currently downloading the MotorStorm demo to give it a spin.
MegaManFan
Okay, this is sick. I just figured out the deal with the level on Blast Factor I couldn't beat. You have to TILT THE CONTROLLER, which tilts the playing field on your screen, which makes all the enemies that have been tipped over on their sides vulnerable. Now THAT is f'n cool! That does sound pretty cool. I'll have to remember to give that game a try when I get a PS3.
Jess Ragan
How'd you find that out? Did you just throw your controller in frustration, only to discover that it disabled the enemies you couldn't kill? JR

JR No controller throwing, I was just reading posts online about the Sixaxis being tilt sensitive, and the light bulb went off over my head like OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I GET IT NOW realizing that in a game they would put up to show off what the PS3 could do they would definitely program it to include tilt in some way. King_Salamon
That's a pretty cool use of the tilt control. Not too bad for a 'mini-game' (by today's standards anyway). I'm looking forward to the homebrew games that'll appear.
