+remowilliams
fellow ps3 owners, whats the best way to power down the ps3,turn it off so the red lights turns on.or turn the switch off on the back. Just turn it off via the front panel (or on screen menu) and leave it with the red standby light on. It consumes almost no power at all in standby mode. eric_ruck
Well, not no power, but very little. All the "barely any" devices add up. Right now in my office I'm looking at two PCs on standby, three PDAs, five monitors and probably a few other things lurking under desks new power strips. +remowilliams
Well, not no power, but very little. Yes, that's why I said almost no power - I measured it Standby 1W .03A
MegaManFan
Just turn it off with your remote controller and leave the switch in the back turned on. It won't hurt anything and you'll be able to start back up quicker just by hitting the PS logo on your controller.
jbanes
Well, not no power, but very little. Yes, that's why I said almost no power - I measured it Standby 1W .03A Try measuring it with the controllers plugged in for recharge. You'll probably get a lot higher number. (Extra 2-5 watts per controller, I would imagine.) Not that that's a bad thing.
