ps3 hd hook up question

does anyone know if they make a adapter or switch box so i can hook up my xbox360 and ps3 at the same time.i only have 1 set of hd plug ins on the back of my tv.

What connector type are you talking about, component, DVI or HDMI?

Yeah, they can be. But if you're using component on an HD set - electronic switches are the way to go. Mechanical switches 99.9% of the time aren't up to par for the higher bandwidth HD signals.

Madcatz also makes a universal component cable that will support PSX PS2 & PS3, as well as Xbox and Xbox 360. Supposedly it autosenses which console you are using and feeds the video appropriately. I believe that you can also attach an optical audio cable to the 360 plug. It's not on their website, but I bought one at Walmart (in Canada).

I thought I saw some kind of adapter like this at Best Buy near the video game stuff. I've always managed to score at Radio Shack for variou switches but I don't know about component.
