The only game I'm really interested in that's out now is R:FOM. (I haven't bought a PS3 yet, but I plan on getting one in the near future.) I decided to check BestBuy.com since the ad said the online offer may vary. Apparently the online offer includes pre-orders and they offer free ground shipping on all PS3 games as well. I was one of the people who received a $10 off coupon when bestbuy.com cancelled their PS3 pre-orders. I ended up ordering Resistance and Oblivion, used the $10 off code, get free shipping, and get a $20 gift card to use on a future purchase. Not a bad deal imho.
