MegaManFan
I know this won't last once more people pick up the full version of the game and not the demo, but I'm pretty stoked because right now I'm in the top 20 on a lot of the levels by ranking for the various challenges (get all stars, beat the clock, GripShift logo) only I can't figure out how to view your overall rankings outside of the game itself. I know some people are going to say $9.99 is a lot of money for a downloadable game but I feel like the replay value on this one is HUGE. I've barely even scratched the surface of the number of things you can unlock and the gameplay is simple, fun and addictive. If you're not wanting to shell out $60 for a game but still want a fun HD experience, this is a hella nice alternative. Very arcade, very intuitive, and you have to love the fact Sony actually uses their built in online functionality in-game - you can even do head to head and four-way races online. King_Salamon
I just picked up the PSP version a couple days ago on a boxing week sale for $10 (Canadian). Might be able to finally play it tonight.
Shannon
I saw this posted up on the playstation store last night but didn't feel like trying to download it just yet. Not with the PS3 crappy non-existant resumable downloads and all my bandwidth being tied up by something else at the time.
King_Salamon
Well... I managed to play the PSP version briefly tonight and so far, I'm liking it. I like the arcadey controls to it. (I'm growing tired of the super realism racing genre) If the PS3 version is better the it would be a great deal @ $9.99 for download. Time to go play some more. MegaManFan
I've never even played the PSP version but "arcadey" is a perfect word to describe how this one plays. From what I understand this version is new and expanded levels with more challenges, and again there's that whole online battling and online ranking thing. My only problem is I've yet to determine how on this game (or any other PS3 game which has rankings such as Blast Factor) you determine the rankings OUTSIDE the game itself. You think there would just be a website by Sony or the programmer where you could enter your handle and see your rank, or see what the top 25/50/100/500/1000/etc. are but so far I can find nonesuch. King_Salamon
That seems to be where XBox Live really shines. Perhaps in a couple months there will be more structure with the online stuff from Sony. Back to GripShift... the levels are nicely varied and don't require you to be a professional player to make it through the levels. I will admit replaying some levels trying to go for the gold etc though. Perhaps later this year I will get a PS3 and download this as I'm having fun with the PSP version.
