  1. Congrats on the 1,000,000+ views Anthony! Although unsurprising given the passion that you and many others put into this thread for so long. I'm hoping this will be the year i can get my hands on official Neo Geo gear, in the meantime you can count on me to spread the Neo Geo "word" to the uninitiated or those who know about the great games (but like me) dont have the OG system to play them. Here is hoping that you and Neo Geo goodness stays around for many more years to come, and lets go for that 10,000,000+ now! :)
  2. Hi Guys, this is Htaed7 (RCT) here just in amazement how time passes by when you are having fun. So much to be thankful to this Thread and to NEO GEO jedi Anthony (FDdurso224) But here we are on it's 4th Anniversary (and hoping for many more to come) Even though i'm not a constant (do many fly bys) but between work and videos i dont hang out much, Anthony is always and influence (with his love for Neo Geo and his community) to always seek and play as many of these amazing classic titles any way i can. Case in point: even though i STILL don't have oficial hardware (hopefully 2018 will change that) I get my Neo Geo fix with the Switch downloads available. Enough of my babbling LOL, Happy Anniversary Neo Geo thread and may your Captain (anthony) keep this ride going for many years to come! Thanks for everything!
  3. Happy Birthday Neo Geo forums! 3 years WOW. here is Htaed7 wishing that may the forums last many more years to come providing a home for the fledgling Neo Geo fan everywhere! Congrats Anthony, in safe keeping this cool place for everyone! ROCK ON dudes!
  4. Thanks Anthony, i was about to update it with the link (but you where a step ahead of me LOL, thanks again) It's not totally blocked (just some "countries" and mobile phones,) but as you mentioned this is due to the music, which is a shame because nobody is trying to make money off this, AND most of these bands don't mind at all, but the BS policies are sometimes "choking" in nature. Specially considering some people upload full movies and tv episodes, but i digress, we had fun, and there is an alternative (by checking it out at twitch) take care guys!
  5. Greetings fellow forum members, Htaed7 back here with my last "hurrah" (for the foreseeable future) I leave this here, which was last night's "One more dance: Neo Geo" stream i did on twitch, where a few of my friends (including Fdurso224) shared a good time rocking to 80's-90's metal tunes while showcasing some Neo Geo games. i would like to note that due to an oversight (on my part) some of the audio was muted by twitch (for obvious reasons) and since i didn't record it, well i had to upload "as is" ...sorry for that. Before i go, i wish to mention that i really appreciate how welcoming this forum (and it's members) have been to me in the short time i have been with you guys (specially you Anthony!) and that i wish you guys a very long life and success in any future endeavors since you guys are an example of what a forum should be: (loyal dedicated gamers, little to NO drama, open to share experiences with others) Long live Neo Geo and long live the forums! ROCK ON!
  6. Hi Guys, Htaed7 here...hope you are all doing well! Just came off my "Fight Night 2.0"stream on Youtube Gaming and since the title featured tonight is KOF XIII (steam version) i just wanted to drop the link here in case any are interested in checking it out! As i mention in the stream, i'm not a much of a "fan" of KOF as i i'm of Samsho or last blade series. But much is due to myself and not because of the quality of the games. For some reason i just couldn't get the timing right when it came to competitive play (chaining combos, specials etc) even though most of my friends ADORE the series, so i set out (i know i'm late) to seek KOF XIII to see if i could come to terms with the game and feel the hype for the upcoming KOF XIV. In that regard the game delivered in spades, great controls, beautiful art style and overall great package. Will be back with more SNK greatness soon, Take care guys! ROCK ON! Fight Night 2.0 #4: KOF XIII (Htaed7-RCT) (Friday, May 6, 2016)
  7. Hi guys, hope you are all doing well! **ATT: Anthony*** I stop by today to let the forums know (with the blessing of fdurso224 of course LOL) about a cool site dedicated to retro records (high scores) called Interghosts Retro Records This is the place of course where buddy Aaron classic Gamer and i have had our friendly competition of 1942 (nes version) these past few days (and it's been crazy fun) that being said it would be cool if you guys check it out because the site is fairly new, there are not many records set (he is allowing scores to be added by its viewers) and the Neo Geo section is pretty barren (as of now) So i thought it would be cool to have some of the Neo geo fans here to go over and set a high score for your favorite game and BUILD the Neo Geo section! i believe this would foster great "back and forth"between members of both sites and have fun at the same time. The rules for submission aren't too stringent, as long as you can provide a "video"proof of your high score run (much easier if you have a Youtube account) i wont post my records here, respecting that it's not about a neo Geo game, but soon we can build a nice catalog of high scores using Neo Geo as a platform. So what do you say guys? Interghosts Retro records Facebook page: (for score submissions and questions) Twitter page (for score submissions and questions)

  9. Well guys, first of all Hi to everyone and sorry for not being much around these days. But that's not why i'm here today, you see i'm here to congratulate whom i consider a friend, for not only introducing me to this wonderful forum, but also for being such a caring person and passionate (without recurring to belittling or insults) when something goes astray. he's of course: fdruso224 and as i wish the forum a happy 2nd birthday i also like to thank him personally for being such an accommodating and caring gamer friend! A toast (imaginary of course) to you and the forum, and i wish it to keep growing with the cool people we see here and best of luck in your future ventures. i dont carry gifts, but i leave something the best way i could to "commemorate" the occasion...ROCK ON, my Friend ROCK ON! PS: Also it's high time you had a new avatar...LOL here! fixed haha
  10. Haha, sorry friend if i made the solution a bit over convoluted. You see that "middle section" is referring to: "the best recording settings" IF you choose to download the free software called OBS, because as far as all in one capture card solutions, yes you will find more streamlined and simple "press one button" software included in these modern capture cards. However, whichever you decide in the end, be it AverMedia, Hauppauge or Elgato that you decide for, there is always the possibility that you might need Additional Broadcasting/recording software (in case the default one that come with your card isn't very good) hell, it happened to me with the LGX (the included software looked amazing, but for my needs it was utter crap, LOL) So i installed the mentioned software (OBS) and it worked great. (those settings i posted are for high quality RECORDINGS) but you can also install other software like Dxtory, Camtasia studio etc. (OBS is free though) here are a few options in terms of capture cards: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr2plus-gaming.html Avermedia HDMI cards: http://gamerzone.avermedia.com/game_capture/lgp_lite http://gamerzone.avermedia.com/game_capture/live_gamer_portable_usf4 All in one solution: Avermedia C285 game capture HD II http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100169 Hope these options help you better than my last post Reaperman, and if by chance, after getting the card you still dont like what's available, let me know and i will help you set up the software! -Htaed7
  11. Yup, Aaron you got it right there, i would recommend the Avermedia LGX, for HDMI capture, but its limiting in that it requires you tohave a 3.0 compatible CPU on your PC. But on the software side of things i can recommend what i recommended to our friend NeoTurbo, which is OBS (open Broadcast Software) have it installed and configure it with these settings for high quality capture recording (you will end up with a big file, but it will be of amazing quality) (once you download and install the software, configure the following:) Here are the settings you are required to change to get high quality local recordings (using the x264 encoder). Do not attempt to use these settings for live streaming! (you will find these in the settings section in OBS) Encoding Use CBR: Disabled Quality Balance: 10 Bitrate: 1000 Use custom buffer size: Enabled Buffer size: 0 Advanced Options x264 CPU Preset: Ultrafast Use custom x264 parameters: Enabled Custom x264 parameters: crf=X Where X is anywhere from 1-20, lower being higher quality / higher CPU usage. A good place to start is the 15 - 20 range. A CRF of 0 enables lossless hope this works for you, Reaperman -Htaed7
  12. Hows it going guys? Htaed7 here, bringing my entry for the weekly challenge: Samsho! Yes, the game/series that saved me from "fighting game fatigue" LOL, yup this here, is a thing of beauty. ported to every console known by men (but NEVER as good as the original) Samurai Showdown Now my score may seem pathetic the keen eye, but rest assured i give not one ...erm care, for the fun to be had nullifies any need for high scores, (at least in MY mind) hahaha. Always fresh, from one iteration to the next, with not ONLY updated graphics and sound but GAMEPLAY mechanics to keep you glued to your seats, if i had the money, i would probably have a special edition bronze/silver plated Neo Geo with the samurai series alone (that's how much this series mean to me!) Aside from the gushing, i leave the video here for your viewing and hope that it sparks some enthusiasm from the rest of guys to go at it too. **sidenote**: i will soon do the Samurai Shodown: Retrospective where i plan to showcase every title in the series including the Taito X2 version, so stay tuned have a great night guys!
  13. Yeah, that would be awesome, never said i was great at it, i just LOVE the series as a whole (my favorite out of the Neo Geo fighting catalogTBH) So yeah im game for that. any specific settings/rules, let me know to abide by them. and i will get going on it. Glad you enjoyed the vid guys, in the end its all about coming together and having some fun. \m/
  14. Hi guys, just dropping by to leave the link for the "Neo Geo"challenge vid on Viewpoint. Not a "worthy"score by any measure, but i never said i was any good at it either LOL, so just for the fun of it (and hoping it fosters cooperation from the rest of you guys to join in and show us what you got!) Maybe one of these days Aaron will pick one i'm actually GOOD at..hahaha. Have a good one guys!
  15. Hi guys, hope you are all having a great weekend!. last night Afrosoul and i went head to head on Neo Geo puzzlers (which we found out, are much more engrossing than they look) for the sake of some friendly competitive fun!. We are thinking about doing a "Vs" like this one but with Wrestling games, so be on the lookout for that very soon!. **Thanks to Anthony and NeoTurboManiac for their appearance and having fun with us there!**
