Albert
If you're in Texas this weekend and can find your way to Irving (just west of Dallas), you'll want to check out the 2005 Texas Pinball Festival. This annual event features over 100 pinball machines and classic video games all set on free play for the entire weekend. Given how uncommon it is to find working pinball machines in the wild these days, events like the Texas Pinball Festival are one of the few venues to enjoy pinball machines and classic arcade games in good, working order. The event also features tournaments, an outdoor flea market/swap meet on Friday, and a Monster Bash Party on Saturday to coincide with Halloween. You can learn more about the event by visiting the Texas Pinball Festival web site.
Crimefighter
Hmmm...wonder why this got more attention than the big pinball thing in southern Illinois a month ago?

Now I have to seriously think about taking a road trip this weekend.
Albert
Hmmm...wonder why this got more attention than the big pinball thing in southern Illinois a month ago? 955240[/snapback] I wasn't aware of a big pinball thing in southern Illinois. I live here in Texas and went to the Texas Pinball Festival last year and had a blast. I am subscribed to two Texas arcade mailing lists, so see quite a bit of traffic with regards to this show every year. I did also post news two months ago about California Extreme, which is a very large arcade show that takes place annually in California. And sadly I have not been to one of them yet. ..Al
+bcombee
Thanks for the notice! A friend and I are going to roadtrip up to the fest on Saturday morning from Austin. I hope it will be worth the seven hours of driving (counting both ways).
JayP
I am subscribed to two Texas arcade mailing lists, so see quite a bit of traffic with regards to this show every year. Could you PM info for those mailing lists? The boy and I are going to make the show- midday Saturday prolly. Last year was terrific, this should be better! Sorry for you guys driving... we just have to drive up the airport, 10 minutes away?
SteveW
Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh! Yet again, I only find out about this event after it's taken place. Man, I would have loved to have gone, and I live just south of Irving. It would have taken me all of ten minutes to get there. Of course, my work hours might have made it hard to get there, but I could have stopped by for a while. Dammit!
