AtariMan1976
What is a good price to pay for a 7800 in original box? What should i expect to pay?
ApolloBoy
I'd say anywhere from $30 to $70, depending on the completeness, and the conditions of both the box and the 7800 itself.
Rik
I cant recall how any of the ATARI console boxes were sealed, anyone know?good to know, for the ones buying consoles that are advertised as sealed, but i guess its really hard to tell if anythings factory sealed, there's some pretty talented counterfeiters out there! bcprs1
I may be completely wrong here, but I kinda remember my 7800 being covered in a layer of plastic. Then again, that was over 18 years ago.
Prodos8
I may be able to shed some light on this. I have my original 7800 boxed from 1988. The console is bagged in anti-static plastic, with pieces of foam on each end to protect it, and a protective plastic film (which I have since removed) over the chrome nameplate. The power supply is in a generic looking white box. Now from here on, is speculative at best, as I do have all this bubble wrap but can't remember what it was for. IIRC the Pole Position II cart was enclosed in a bubble wrap baggie. The controllers where also in some short of bubble wrap. The switch box and its accesories were also in some bubble wrap. The system manual was just loose in the box underneath the console?? Anyway that's my $0.02.
