RIVER
Hope this is not to many pictures, got kinda camera crazy! Several of you have been asking me to post pics of the gameroom, so here it is. It is a work in progress, as im sure all of yours are as well, but these were taken last year after building a garage at my dads house that he so wonderfully let me add a 30x18 gameroom built right in with his garage, how nice of him!! (Way to much stuff huh?) Edited March 11, 2007 by RIVER

RIVER
Ive been through alot with this room over the past year, it looks kinda rough right now because right after i got it just about how i liked it--IT FLOODED!!! Yes from arkansas worst rain storm, i had about 5 inches of water in my gameroom one morning!! I lost some pretty good stuff to water damage and had to pull up the carpet move all the stuff off the floor, and its never been quite the same since. Then i started a new job running a music venue, working 10-12 hours a day and havent been able to really clean it up and get it all back the way i like it, so it is kinda just there right now. God that sucks big time!,I'm glad to see i'm not the only one with a flooding problem,my basement flooded last week from a big snow thaw after we got 4-5 feet of snow!.Thats why I keep everything that can be water damaged ,especially my gaming collection off my basement floors! darthkur
Holy hell! It resembles a store more than anything. Did you win the lottery or something? All the stuff in my entire house isn't half as much of all the things crammed into that room.
Gregory DG
Gee, I take it you like video games or something? Nice collection. Sorry to hear about your water damage.

GrizzLee
Looks great. I did this a similar thing about 5 years ago. I built a detached garage with an apartment above it (granny loft). We call it out game loft. Someday I should post pictures. It is nice to have your own space for your toys. -Lee

Brad2600
OH MY GOD! Now look, I know I've been pretty lax with game collecting lately but I swear if I ever get an apt with a basement, I'm going to pimp it out with my collection. Nice freakin' gameroom! RIVER
Fist of all- Liqiuid- you are right for sure, i probably do need professional help, seriously! Next- thanks for all the nice comments guys. One word of advice, do NOT be jealous, you do NOT want this much stuff!!! I have had to move this stuff from 4 different houses, then 4 different storage buildings and 2 different states over the last 4 years, more work then i care to have done. I allmost started a small game store 2 years ago, i wish i had now, but just couldnt do it financially at the time. Dont get me wrong i love the stuff but it has just gotten a little out of control as you can see. It started out just wanting play some old atari games then collecting for atari, then wanting to play some other systems, then collecting for everything, then wanting to open a store (so i bought everything i could find), Then i found a full size arcade and got bit by a coin op bug (thats a whole other illness), and now i have a video game store, and an Arcade in my garage!! Whats your rarest item in your collection? Well, i would say i have alot of "nice" stuff more that alot of "rare stuff". But i have some good hard to find stuff, but there are tons of people on this site who have awesome collections of beiutiful, mint, new, rare stuff that puts everything i have to shame, i just got ALOT of doubles of stuff, and tripples ext... I would rather have a smaller more condensed, rare, mint collection, than all the stuff i have but i cant complain at all. Just off the top of my head- Brand new bally astrocade in shipping box- (nice & minty) Brand New fairchild channel f's- Brand new sealed 7800- Mint atari boxed systems, "heavys, sixes, fours, vaders, jrs"- Mint Boxed promotional & factory reconditiond 2600's- Mint Boxed promotional "5200" system- (dont know anyone else who has one) Alot of new boxed pong variations- A whole case of 5 "service exchange only" 2600's (i like these alot for some reason) Alot of new & mint accessories- New boxed Atari game center- Some fairly rair games like-Malagai, Vulture attack, Boing, Waterworld, C Climber, Tank command ext... not boxed though
Albert
Wow, that's pretty hard core. Are you using the garage aspect of that building, or is it completely filled with games? What came first, the idea for a garage or the idea of having a standalone building to house your collection? Thanks for sharing the pictures, those are great. Gives us all something to aspire to. ..Al

RIVER
Thanks again guys. AL--the gameroom is 30x18 just the left side of the garage, the 2 garage stalls are used for my mom and dads cars and all my dads tool and toys. The idea first was for a stand alone 14x20 storage building i was going to buy and put at my parents place but dad offered to build a garage for him with a gameroom for me if i wanted, well duh, what a cool dad huh, so i helped with some money and labor and i have a great size, secure, air conditioned, lighted, game room, my parents ROCK!!! Only thing is, we have had a major flodding issue with the garage and, the guys who dug the ground and layed the foundation screwed up and went to deep and its been a major problem!! riffraff
It took me some time to respond to this thread. The pictures here make me kind of angry.. in an envious/jealous way =) All my stuff is in boxes for several moves now. Really nice job dedicating a room to something like that. Someday I'll have a house and can make a nice display.. hopefully! Until then I'll just lug it around and continue to rent an extra bedroom for it. nester
Well it is always nice to see other Arkansas collecctors, but it puts my 3 puny bookshelves to shame. It looks like I've got a lot of work to do to catch up.
