exobuzz
Hi, Has anyone used the AtariMAX.com sio2pc+prosystem cable successfuly with linux ? It is supposed to be autosending (DSR/RING/CTS), but when doing an ioctl wait in linux for either it sits there forever I was testing it with sio2linux ( http://www.crowcastle.net/preston/atari/ ) which is a usermode program. I also tried atarisio ( http://www.horus.com/~hias/atari/ ) but this wouldn't work either. It wouldn't even build on new kernels so I created a patch - http://www.atarimax.com/flashcart/forum/viewtopic.php?t=572 this allows atarisio to be built on kernel 2.6.20 (Should work on older 2.6 kernels also) I would be interested in finding out if the atarisio works for others with my patch, and also any success with the sio2pc+prosystem cable on linux. carmel_andrews
is this device similar to the 2 in one or 3 in one pc-atari interfaces/cables that i saw mentioned on the www in the late 90's As a few websites did mention those very devices

Urchlay
I use Linux with the same SIO2PC device you have... For some reason, Hias doesn't link to his development versions of atarisio from his main page. Here they are: http://www.horus.com/~hias/atari/atarisio/ I'm using the 061113 snapshot, which is the first one whose kernel module will work correctly on x86_64 (though I'm using an old kernel on my AMD64, version 2.6.15. No idea whether it'll build or work on 2.6.20). I didn't have to patch this version of atarisio at all (it already clears RTS on its own). I never got sio2linux working 100% reliably... I got the device to work by clearing RTS, same as you did (though I didn't figure it out myself: Steve told me to try it). It mostly worked, but would mysteriously fail sometimes. Once I got atarisio working, I didn't really try too hard to fix sio2linux.
