DEBRO
Hi there, I was reading an old "Official U.S. PlayStation magazine" (Sept. 2006). In it they do an interview with Amy Hennig. She mentions that she did art for an unreleased 7800 game. Does anyone know what this game was? There is nothing else metioned about this game in the interview. You can read the interview here. Trip_Cannon
What's up with the answer she gave? She's given a direct question and she doesn't answer it!

shadow460
The reason I mentioned Electrocop was that there was talk in this forum of the prototype being in a woman's office just before it went missing. There might be a chance that woman either was Amy Hennig, or they knew each other. It's a long shot, but I guess it's as good as any. Who knows, maybe she didn't work for Atari at all. Perhaps she worked on UFO instead.
Gregory DG
What makes you think it was Electrocop? There's no indication that's the game she's talking about. Maybe she's talking about Missing In Action? Or any other unreleased 7800 game? Or maybe one we don't know about?
Trip_Cannon
WTF? IDK... MDK for the 7800?!
Trip_Cannon
I understand the non-disclosure agreement and all that. But come on, Atari has been done for 10+ years and the 7800 has been done for 20+ years... And Greg's right. It could be anything since she was "working on an Atari 7800 game." But what were the games in the making then? Electrocop? Gauntlet? Anything else? Edited April 19, 2007 by Trip_Cannon

DracIsBack
Steel Talons, White Water Madness to name 2 I seem to remember this may have been an original game, but the last I heard of her and the 7800 was around 1994 so my memory is foggy. Jetboot Jack
Here you go... "What an obscure question! Yep, I can remember the game -- it was the Atari 7800 version of Electrocop (though nothing like the Lynx version). It was kind of a robocop side-scroller. " sTeVE
Trip_Cannon
Nice! Thanks for the answer Steve! Now... we cry ourselves to sleep of what could have been...
DracIsBack
Heh! I wonder if she has any artwork files. Even if the game is missing, it would have been cool to see what this looked like. I remember speaking with someone around 1993 who saw it at CES and said it was terrific.
Trip_Cannon
Then come to find out she has a complete copy... That'd be sooo badass.... after which, I wake up...
Godzilla
what a waste of the 7800s power, doing electro cop as a sidebrawler. I was so sure it could do the 3rd person 3d like the lynx. was lynx electrocop the first 3rd person 3d console game?
A Sprite
Depends on how you define 3d. You might have a case if you eliminate all vehicles, space ships, and forced scrolling, on rail shooters, and limit us to what we take for granted today as far as play style goes... I mean in what we think of as the modern 3rd person 3d (3d implying a non-static environment,) so parrallax/et all would be out. Amiga continuum also had 3rd person 3d... I just wonder what was the first, was electrocop pre-continuum... electo could be seen as tomb raiders grand dad...
Shawn
I think a robocop style side stepper for 7800 would be great. Hell "robocop" on the 7800 would be great
