"It's Bashful Buford to the rescue!"

 

Beauty and the Beast is by Imagic for the Intellivision video game system and was released back into 1982.

 

You take on the role Bashful Buford who has to rescue his girlfriend Tiny Mabel from the clutches of Horrible Hank who has taken Tiny Mabel to the top of the old Mutton building.

 

The objective of the game is to earn the highest number of points you can(as with most classic games).

 

Players need to climb to the top of each section of Mutton building by crawling up through open windows while avoiding obstacles such as boulders,birds,bats,and rats!

 

Grab a falling heart to become temporary invincible and each of these hearts are worth bonus points too so get them often.

 

A complete building consists of 11 sections of 4 floors each and the Mutton building gets narrower as you head towards the top and if you succeed in beating the building you are treated to a overview screen showing you and Tiny Mabel being rescued by a bi-plane while Horrible Hank falls to his doom.

 

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite Intellivision games.It has great graphics and sounds,Controls well,and is just a blast to play.

 

Imagic just makes great games for the Intellivision(and the Atari 2600) and this game is one of the best.Thumbs Up .
