dwhyte
Can anyone tell me why the SIO sound "flaps" rather than "squelches" on Atari800WinPlus? It's fine on the Mac version as well as the standard atari800... Is it a setting I'm missing somewhere or is it not fully implemented in the Windows version? Rybags
Not 100% here but I think they probably decided only to emulate quiet SIO (ie - like storing 0 in location dec 65 on a real machine). SIO patch (for mega-fast I/O) changes things yet again, so no I/O sounds there. Also, with tapes on real machines, often a fair proportion of the sound you get is due to the audio head picking up part of the data signal. Then you have crosstalk on SIO cables, which distorts the sound even further.
Kr0tki
There's an option "Digitized sounds" in the Sound Options dialog, you should have it turned on. Also, turn SIO patch off. Note that since version 2.0.0 of Atari800, the digitized sound is broken. Check in Help->About... which kernel version your Atari800WinPLus uses - if it is 2.0.0 or higher, SIO sound cannot be fixed.
