Parrot Software?

Does anyone know where I can get the Parrot sound digitizer software? My disks were destroyed by mold from being in storage. I have the digitizer box, but without the software it's pretty useless. I used to have two 5 1/4" floppies for the Atari 8 bit (400). One was the sampling software and the other was a bunch of pre-digitized sounds you could play with.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

IIRC, it's using the old trick of causing the drive to read unmatching data from a bad sector (doesn't matter what it is, so long as it's not identical ~n times around). Dunno if emulators can deal with that nonsense.

I've got version 1.1 (according to the manual) around here someplace, might be fun to see if I've still got 733+ 5k1772 to zap a disk copy of it :pirate:

If no other offers turn up, I'll check it out.

It means dragging the computer and warts out of specially-engineered time capsule "Spider-Guard " boxes tho...so gimme a while.

Gotta remember how to bribe a spider again.

I have the orginal software, the one on langesite is the parrrot 2. I assume looking for the parrot 1? You can back up your parrot 1 software as a PRO image in APE just like that image in langesite. They both seem to use the same type of copy protection.

I wish someone would start a site that was dedicated to these kind of programs. It would be a shame if they were to become lost.

Here are some disks from the SCAT (Suburban Chicago Atarians) public domain library, the text below is from the SCAT directory.

Disk 111: Audio - Parrot Sound Demo

Digitized sound demos created with the "Parrot". This disk includes the

theme from "The Addams Family", "Good Vibrations", "Star Trek", and the

Beatles singing "A Day in the Life".

Disk 112: Audio - Parrot Sound Demo

Digitized sound demos created with the "Parrot". This disk includes the

TV themes from "Mr. Ed", "Superman", "The Monkees", and some big band

music.

Disk 113: Audio - Build a "Parrot" Box

An advanced project which includes the schematic for a simple "Parrot"

box. The program requires BASIC XL/XE and some hardware.

I don't have a PC. Is there some way to transfer these from a Mac or am I S.O.L?
