macmike
Does anyone know where I can get the Parrot sound digitizer software? My disks were destroyed by mold from being in storage. I have the digitizer box, but without the software it's pretty useless. I used to have two 5 1/4" floppies for the Atari 8 bit (400). One was the sampling software and the other was a bunch of pre-digitized sounds you could play with. Any help is greatly appreciated. Fres
I used to have the Parrot, but it's long since gone. I didn't realize the disk was protected, but the closest thing I could find was http://www.langesite.com/Atari/Holmes/Holm...rotected%5d.atr I couldn't get it to work in my emulator, however. Nukey Shay
IIRC, it's using the old trick of causing the drive to read unmatching data from a bad sector (doesn't matter what it is, so long as it's not identical ~n times around). Dunno if emulators can deal with that nonsense. I've got version 1.1 (according to the manual) around here someplace, might be fun to see if I've still got 733+ 5k1772 to zap a disk copy of it If no other offers turn up, I'll check it out. It means dragging the computer and warts out of specially-engineered time capsule "Spider-Guard " boxes tho...so gimme a while. Gotta remember how to bribe a spider again. IndusGT
I have the orginal software, the one on langesite is the parrrot 2. I assume looking for the parrot 1? You can back up your parrot 1 software as a PRO image in APE just like that image in langesite. They both seem to use the same type of copy protection. I wish someone would start a site that was dedicated to these kind of programs. It would be a shame if they were to become lost.

charliecron
Well you'll need some sort of SIO2PC interface, easy to build, or to buy. I do believe there is Macintosh software for the interface, other folks here can probably point you to the software.
ThomSW
TRAGICAL sound quality! I hope that parrot died really hard. Was it any good by the way?
