Almost Rice
I'm looking for a program to convert *.com file to *.obj file (for use on a real Atari) Is the .com file an Atari executable? I would use Spartados with the command "REN *.COM *.OBJ" Edited June 6, 2007 by Almost Rice

Almost Rice
So, is REN command rename? Yes, here is the link to the manual. You could use the full command RENAME instead.

Urchlay
I'm looking for a program to convert *.com file to *.obj file (for use on a real Atari) No conversion required, just rename them. Can do it on the Atari, or on the PC if that's more convenient. Or, just leave them named as they are: Atari DOSes don't care about the filename. The only time an extension would be required, would be if you were running them from the SpartaDOS or DOS XL command line, and wanted to not have to type the whole filename (if the file's called FOO.COM, you'd be able to just type FOO to run it from the D1: prompt; if it was FOO.OBJ, you'd actually have to type FOO.OBJ). This doesn't apply to Atari DOS 2/2.5 or MyDOS or any non-command-line DOS though. If you use MyPicoDOS, you can even have long filenames appear on the Atari, such as "BLUE MAX 2001" instead of BLUMAX2K.COM.
