Atari 8-bit emu on Dreamcast

Ok Atari 8-bit and Dreamcast fans out there! (I know there are few that walk both lines, like myself now and Cybernoid I think was the first to show me a Dreamcast along with Kevin Mosley...)

Have you tried the Atari 8-bit emulators on the Dreamcast? How did you like it, which version worked the best for you, and do any of them have serial emulation? For example, do any of them have the R: handler code built in so that you can use the Dreamcast modem with the Atari term program? (Atari800Win incorporates this for example).

The latter is what I'm REALLY interested in, but Archon on the Dreamcast would be ok too. :)

The DC behaving just as though it was an A8, imagine that. :)

I've never really bohtered or even known how to use emus on the DC since I've got a PC. But I did use my DC to buy a real Atari 800XL though. :)

Got on ebay with it? Sweet!

Currently on the Atari IRC channel on the Dreamcast. That's kinda fun. More than my Jaguar can do at the moment, so fairly happy there.

Here is a message I got from the writer of the author of the Atari 800 emu. I'm trying to talk him into adding R: support (mainly so I can use Atari term programs, on the DC, to call BBS's)(Iknow, I'm crazy that way.) :P

Good idea :-)

No, it doesn't have R: support :-(

I thought about adding R: support for the (serial) coder's cable but

didn't do it yet.

But using the modem is also a good idea, I will look if it is possible.

(It depends on whether the modem is supported in the KOS library.)

A coder's cable provides a serial port for the DC. You you use a regular

SIO2PC cable then. The software on the DC is missing, though.

I don't even think I knew about ebay then. I think it was the year 2000, I ended up finding a site which sold old computer stuff and bought one of there, over the next few months I got a few games and two binders of Page 6 magazines from there too.

I remember how exciting it was going on sites for the first time and seeing all those old games that I used to have for so cheap.
