joeventura
I need a suggestion a replacement for the TV I have been using, I use DT80/Omniview and Bit3 video cards a lot so I need something that handles 80 columns well. Any suggestions for something of high quality in the 12 to 20" range? I was think of an LCD monitor or Flat screen TV with a composite input Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any feedback! Rybags
S-Video input would be best for the Atari - composite still cops the noise, although not as bad as RF. Also, I've read here before that some LCDs have trouble with non-interlaced signals so it might be an idea to test one first.

Rybags
S-Video is just seperate Chroma and Luma, which is by default available from most 8-bit machines which have a monitor port. Of course, many 800XLs and some other machines didn't have chroma connected, but it can be added by a simple mod.
pepax
I'm testing the 22" LG M228WA LCD right now. So far I can tell that it works with my 600XL connected via a composite cable. Additional tests will be executed later. Edited October 25, 2007 by pepax
joeventura
Anyone have any data on adding SVideo to an XL or 800? Anyone have any other suggestions for a Tv/Monitor etc
mimo
IIRC an 800 already has S-video, I have just added S-video to my 800XL usingBryans easy video mod It works really well! You will also need to make/buy a suitable cable to plug into the monitor socket on the Atari
Hornpipe2
I just built a cable with audio, composite, and S-Video plugs on it. joeventura
Here is the cable I made from an inexpensive radio shack cable: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...80&hl=cable Are you talking about a composite cable or an S Video cable? Either way your post or your blog seem fairly incomplete on how to make one. Thanks anyway.

There really isn't much to it. just cut the "Playstation" end off the cable, stip the ends of the individual wires and solder the colored wires to a DIN connector using the instructions in my post. I am sorry if you don't understand something. I will be happy to answer any questions.
