midnight magicman
I just got into the 5200 & love the system. My wife got me Adventure II for xmas (I begged her to open it early) & now I'm very excited for the eventual releases of Airworld & ESPECIALLY Tempest (my fav arcade game of all time). What I'm wondering is how many 5200 homebrews have been made over the years? Does anyone have a link to a complete list? I've heard a few mentioned that aren't listed in AAs rarity guide. I also noticed that the first star software (hope I got that name right) stuff isn't listed like Boulderdash & the like. Any info from you 5200 experts is greatly appreciated. Peace

+remowilliams
I don't think there are any What There are a number of 5200 homebrews, a few off the top of my tired head - Koffi: Yellow Kopter, Beef Drop, Castle Crisis, Adventure II :!: As far as First Star, I know of at least Boulderdash and Rent Wars. There are also a number of Atari 8bit > 5200 conversions - MULE, Spy Hunter, Archon, Rally Speedway, etc. A large number of them by Steve from Atarimax (user classics here at AA) And let's not forget stuff like Blaster. Thanks for the info. Especially the 8 bit conversions. I would really like info from anybody on the 8 bit computer titles that have been converted to 5200 (other than the ones remo mentioned). I've heard there is a Donkey Kong 5200? Also, any completed protos other than the Last Starfighter. Just throw in titles not listed in the AA rarity guide & not mentioned here thus far. Lord Helmet
There is a thread with a complete (or at least I think complete) list of 8bit conversions here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...;hl=conversions If you search the 5200 forum for "conversions" you can find most, if not all of the roms Edited December 17, 2007 by Lord Helmet

+Allan
Flip & Flop is my favorite First Star Release. Cheers, Ben Yea, once you get use to the controls it's a great game. Very addicting. Allan
phaxda
I also love this game. Bristles isn't so bad either. I used to be a lot more interested in the 8-bit conversions until I found an 1030 XE at a garage sale. Now I just play the 8-bit versions! If you like the 5200 and have room, I highly recommend picking up an 8-bit machine. Flip & Flop is my favorite First Star Release. Cheers, Ben Yea, once you get use to the controls it's a great game. Lord Helmet
I just want to add that the 5200 is pretty unique in that some of the best games available for the platform were not available back in the system's heyday. Many of those unreleased proto's are top quality, and homebrews like Adventure 2, Beef Drop, Castle Crisis are all must have games.

MIKE5200
Here's a thought for Christmas 2007, maybe if someone convert Reindeer Rescue for us 5200 fans out there.
+Allan
I know I also did:Jumpman Jr Analog Magazine ML Games (one one image) (forget what I called it) You called Analog Classics #1 (where's #2? ) but when I made a label for it I didn't realise you had a title and called it 'The Analog Collection' because I found graphic of that title in one of the issues. You can't convert 2600 games to work on the 5200. You have to reprogram them from scratch. Allan

Allan I never even completely filled #1. There was probably room for at least another game. I also never got around to getting to Preppie 2 to add it to the Preppie cart.
