Segataritensoftii
Zaku finally gets released. The creator of Man Goes Down finally recovers, but decides not to finish it. The game gets released anyway. Before I make this prediction, can fangames be called "homebrew"? oh well, here goes... Sonic Robo Blast 2 finally gets Beta 1 after 9 years of waiting. Game is called the "Duke Nukem Forever" of fangames. Well, those are my predictions. Care to share yours?
Cybergoth
Fun Topic... Bob will release at least 3 games in 2008. I will do 3 as well, so he won't surpass me Yay 1: Chris will finish Juno First! Yay 2: John will return! Yay 3: Michael will finish Bomb Jack! Yay 4: Dennis will finally release Pacman 4K as is! Yay 5: TROGDOR will finish one of his games! The rest will probably be the ususal. TJ will write 2-3 new kernels, another new extra RAM scheme will look promising, Andrew will post new videos of Boulder Dash, etc, etc... vdub_bobby
Fun stuff. In 2008, I predict (or at least I hope): TROGDOR (finally) releases a game on a cart. Dennis releases a Pac-Man game on a cart. Stella's Stocking will finally be released. Al will start the 2008 holiday cart earlier and it will actually ship in December - which means 2008 will see two holiday cart releases! Manuel will tease us by working on Jumpman, Gateway to Apshai, etc. but, in the end, will settle on yet another obscure arcade port. Which will rock, of course. I will flail around for a few months and then end up working feverishly on something that I haven't even thought of right now... An A8 game will be released on cart. I'm hoping for Beyond Evil, but maybe something else.

Impaler_26
Hm... i see the following happen in 2008: Lead will be released on cart. Some nearly forgotten WIPs like Kablammo, Incoming, Gravity Ball, Fade Out and Death Derby will finally get finished and released on cart... The 2008 Holiday Cart will be a 2600 port of the C64 classic "Down the Chimney"

Impaler_26
Well, I think one of those is a certainty. Yeah, i can look into the future!!! I saw the thread for Incoming! 2008 just shortly after i posted this. And here's a link to Down the Chimney for the C64. It's a neat little Basic-Game, would make a nice bB-Project... I should give it a try i guess.. Edited January 3, 2008 by Impaler_26

DEBRO
Hi there, Yay 4: Dennis will finally release Pacman 4K as is! Well.....I've been thinking about that. I just haven't been able to get the interest to get this expanded past 4K. I've never been interested in doing a 2600 game over 4K (one day I hope tackle 2K or even 1K!) I'll give it some more time. Maybe I will get interested again. Maybe playing with enhancing my flicker algorithm will re-spark my interest. Maybe finding new coding tricks might do it too. I have been looking at the source getting ready for it. I've found a couple byte savers in the 4K version too Maybe I'll get back on another game I started last year. Mark2008
I'm jealous of all the activity on the Atari platforms... I keep looking at some of them, Lynx..Atari 8-bit, even Jaguar...(I'm afraid I cannot wrap my mind around the 2600 though) I predict I will keep looking at them, and being jealous of the Atari scene... looks like another banner year. 8th lutz
I predict frogger will be released for the 7800 this year. There will be more hacks for the 7800 that look more like homebrews than a hack. Edited January 4, 2008 by 8th lutz

+Nathan Strum
Cool thread... but I'm not sure I get to play along, since I don't want to spill any beans about projects I already know of. I'll make one prediction though - I'm going to take on fewer projects in December than I did this year.

Yes, work on them needs to start much earlier, so they can be spread out over a longer time period. :D ..Al
