lextorite
Just a quick question. Are the Atari 400/800 cartridges compatible worldwide or are they TV system based. I have a Atari 800XL connected to a Commodore (spit on the floor) monitor.
olavese@online.no
There might be some, but I haven't come across any yet. Seems to work fine for most games. There's a problem with some older games only working on the Atari 400/800 series, can be fixed with Translator disk. Bought PAL and NTSC versions and played all on my PAL 130XE and some on my Atari 800 NTSC.
mimo
As far as I know, there are no differences with the carts. Some cassette (Bounty Bob for example) and disk software will work on PAL only check out the FAQ

I tested a couple of pal cartridges on my ntsc 800xl and both worked fine. i also tested a few pal tape-based games also and no problems there also. NightSprinter
I know of one disk/tape based game that I found unplayable on an NTSC unit: House of Usher. THe graphics in the levels shake up and down too much for it to be playable on an NTSC unit.
