Tempest
Does anyone have a copy of Monkey Wrench handy that they can crack open and see if it looks like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=150206106660 It's hard to tell if this is a prototype or not since many utility carts used EPROMs. Tempest
joeventura
I have two Monkey Wrench II Carts and they both use Eproms (2 each) not ROMS Don't know if that helps
Tempest
Well this is a Monkey Wrench I cart, so maybe it used only one eprom? Do yours have a similar board and eprom labels? Tempest
Fuji-Man
Hi, I opened a few Monkey Wrench carts in which a few looked exactly like this. I think I have 7 or 8 of them all together. So it is not necessarily a prototype. Just somebody opened it to copy the ROM, and then placed it next to a clear plastic box. Presto, a 'one of a kind' prototype. The previous owner probably discarded the case because these were glued and screwed shut and cracked it while opening it. Please be careful on Ebay. Unless the person has some proof that its a prototype, it usually not... If it works and thats all you needed it for, great. If you bought it for rarity, its not. The seller (who is a member here), said that if it's not a proto then we don't have to go through with it. I knew it was a bit of a gamble when I bid, I've been doing this for a long time... BTW thanks for looking in your MW cart for me. I appreciate that. Tempest
carmel_andrews
The cart in question...is it the xl version or the original 4/800 version (as i recall that eastern house did 2 versions, according to sillica shops back catalogue) Also i recall it basically added a few things to atari basic and also added a built in debugger/monitor type proggie

If you dump it you should be able to compare it with the ROMs that are out there.
