What was the month/year of the final ANALOG issue?

Anybody? I'm guessing sometime in 1989? I know Antic lasted at least until 1990 although I belive they were on a every other month schedule by that time. I recently purchased a number of ANALOG magazines some of which are from the 88-89 time frame. It's great to look back but it's kind of sad to look back at that period as the machines were definitely on their way out. But then

again look at the situation now. I can't believe the community has this much activity in 2008! It's really amazing to me.

Thanks Allan. I don't have the November 1989 issue. Did they make any sort of statement that the magazine was officially ending or did it just end abruptly? I'm sure they saw the handwriting on the wall. In the Editor's note in one of the earlier issues in 1989 Clayton Walnum talks about how they were running out of stuff to cover on the 8-bit and were considering coming full circle and going over programming related topics they had previously covered earlier for benefit of new readers and those who missed it the first time around. They were also thinking of reprinting installments of the "Boot Camp" column. There was also a reader survey which apparently was aimed at trying to determine what readers wanted to see. Today in this group there doesn't seem to be a lack of subject matter.

I'm not sure if they made an official announcement. I'd have to look. They did run Boot Camp again until the end.

HI Everyone

You know I use to get the magazines all the time back then. Compute and so many others, and I do miss that they don't have

any kind of magazine out now for Users of the Atari computers. I don't think they would loose money doing it since there is still so much

use on the 8 bit and 16 bit computers. Well what your thoughts on a new magazine coming out for the users of the Atari computers??

According to my list of old computer/gaming stuff I own I have a Dec 1989 of A.N.A.L.O.G. I'm going to go check to see if I really own that or not.

THat would be cool if you could find it. I've been looking for anything further back than Nov. 89 and have never seen one so I assumed November was the last issue.

I just confirmed I have a December 1989. It is issue #79. It has a light grey cover with what looks like an XE game machine on the cover.

I also checked wikipedia and sure enough them mention the last issue was Dec 1989

If you read closely at those letters to the editor about reprinting "Boot Camp" you may see a familiar name ;)
