King Asmo
I made these cart graphics for my new work website.. does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how they can be improved? Cheers, KA
Room 34
They look pretty good to me, although the colors don't seem quite authentic to the originals. A couple of thoughts/questions: 1. How did you arrive at the numbers you used? 2. It seems to me that the colors used on the number label carts fit with the "themes" for the various games that I have discussed in my ramblings on the first 9 games before... 0x games: RED text, action/combat games 01 combat 02 air-sea battle 03 star ship 1x games: ORANGE text, racing games 11 indy 500 12 street racer 2x games: YELLOW/GOLD text, sports games 21 video olympics 4x games: (light) GREEN text, strategy/skill games 41 surround 5x games: (dark) GREEN text, casino games 51 blackjack 6x games: BLUE text, educational games 61 basic math
King Asmo
1. 77 is my lucky number (and my uniform # when I play sports). The other 2 are just random. 2. To be honest, I never thought of matching the colors with the numbers on the original cart... tho I think that's a really good idea. So I should probably change "06" to "16", and use a more authentic orange, and change "59" to "29". I'd like to keep "77", tho I guess I'll have to find a new color for it. Thanks for the suggestions, KA
Room 34
I have another suggestion on the numbers... you should use the numbers that Atari never released. I would include the 3 Sears-only games in that list. So you have these to choose from, in the 2-digit range: 14 19 47 65 72 78 79 87 93 95 Of course, just my 2 cents. I am not trying to tell you how to run your web site!
King Asmo
Actually, I was thinking of using 3 numbers of games I really liked.. sort of a way of paying tribute to them.. I thought of that *after* I chose the numbers, tho, so the games I'm currently using are: "Slot Racers", "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Dig Dug". I love Dig Dug, so that's really approriate. Maybe I'll use "10" for Warlords, and "75" for Ms. Pac-Man.. or "91" for Joust. Thanks for the ideas tho.. they're really good! KA
