cimerians
I'm a noob to the 5200 even though a friend of mine had one in the 80's. I was always impressed by it. I have a bunch of games already and the system is modded to connect to modern TV's (whew!) Now, any games that are must haves? or at least a top 10 list? I can then compare them to what I already have and maybe look for some based on your recommendations.

Atari5200
The Dreadnaught Factor is awesome as well. You can also get a bunch of 8-bit ports, i have Donkey Kong Jr and Spy Hunter and they are fun, especially Spy Hunter. Stay away from Super Cobra and any of the real sports games except for Baseball, Real Sports Baseball is AWESOME.
Inky
My favorites were... Dreadnaught Factor Countermeasure Berzerk Super Breakout Space Dungeon (prob the best game on the system) Pengo Moon Patrol Space Invaders I also liked SPace Shuttle

Its just one of those games that is retarded by the 5200 stock non centering controller.
phuzaxeman
absolutely the best games: space dungeon (dual controller) robotron (dual controller mode) centipede (trackball mode) countermeasure mario bros (2 player mode is way cool) star raiders (awesome use of joystick and pads) realsports baseball (best baseball in that era) gremlins berzerk (great voice and arcade translation) pac man zenji (a true original if u like puzzlers) the 5200 has so many great games....hands down the lynx and 5200 are great systems in terms of their great library of good games to bad games. there arent many bad games on the 5200. Lord Helmet
The 5200 is pretty unique in that there are very few bad games available for it at all. I can't think of another system with such a great good/bad game ratio.
borntorun
Oh yeah, I forgot about Gremlins and The Dreadnaught Factor...so many good games. I can play my Multi-Cart for hours.
ymike673
It's not likely to happen but if you see "Bounty Bob Strikes Back" at a garage sale, BUY IT!
+FujiSkunk
My picks: Centipede - A lot of the grahics were curiously changed (the flea looks more like a pretzel), but the game play is spot on, and the sounds are literally straight out of the arcade game (same sound chip, same programming). Get a trackball and you won't go wrong. Space Dungeon and Robotron 2084 - The 2-controller set-up makes both of these a lot of fun, and you can't get Space Dungeon anywhere else. Berzerk - There weren't many ports of this game to begin with, and this is the best of 'em. Qix - Another one that didn't see very many ports, at least not at first. The 5200 version outshines even the Atari 8-bit computer port, and not just because of the two-button joystick. RealSports Baseball - I don't play much video baseball, but I have to agree this one's a keeper. The announcer's voice definitely helps. Pengo - Caught in the video game crash, this game didn't get the respect it deserves. Both the 2600 and 5200 ports are quite good, but of course the 5200 port is better. Montezuma's Revenge - A worthy successor to Pitfall!. Adventure II - Keeping the dream alive. Tempest - Any day now...
