Galaga for 8-bits?

Im curious as this game has always been seen as impossible on the 8bit without some compromises and this looks almost arcadee perfect.  Whats different in this version that makes it work so well vs the past thought process?

Really nice engine prototype...

Still needs a lot of work probably, though.

 

What I see is missing is a level framework, title screen, high score management, enemy behaviour, and a lot of other things..

Unfortunately these things are were most of the time is spent.

 

But nevertheless, this is an achievement already to get all this stuff going on the screen with all these colors.
