Hank
Newbie question: Generally speaking, what are the differences between the Atari cartridge Basic and the ROM basic?
Jetboot Jack
None really - built in ROM basic is revison B on XL series and Revision C on XE systems. You can get all revisions on Cart, if you've an XL get a cart of revision C, 'cos Revision B which is built in has a little bug where each time you save and load a file it appends a few bytes to it (you can over come this by LISTING the file to disc/cassette and reading it back in) - this eventually causes the system to run out of ram space! But revision C is clear of this feature... If you're at all into using basic on an Atari then I'd forget Atari basic and use Basic XL or Basic XE from OSS - both backward compatible with Atari basic, but MUCH more powerful and far easier to develop with... sTeVE
