video game addict
That looks like the 7800 Choplifter box only with a 5200 twist. My eyes went directly to the XL Crystal Castles box, that doesn't exist either only the smaller XE box.

+Allan
I just realized that 2600 Millipede is slightly different as well. Plus those Xevious graphics are from an ad that was in many of the video game magazines during the eighties. Hmmmm..... I could make a nice box from that. MrRetroGamer
There are a few really cool vintage photos on that site of the Atari and Activision booths at that CES show.

If you are talking about the company building, they WERE in Mass. Allan

Or are they just empty boxes full of empty hope? millipede jungle hunt kangaroo taz http://galleryszy.stevenanne.net/archives/.../our_games.html Sad, get laid off and get a Maria. Was this 84? Not sure about Jungle Hunt or Kangaroo, but something in the back of my mind seems to think that Jungle Hunt was mentioned as being complete as well. That's why they're under the 5200 boxes, duh... But I thought the 7800 was shown at one of these CES shows before being pulled? At least they got a few 5200s. http://galleryszy.stevenanne.net/archives/...es_on_di_2.html

mos6507
Those CES pictures are a goldmine. I'm surprised how contemporary the booths look by today's standards. Not really that different from what you see at E3. Just no booth babes.

Certainly by the time the initial 7800s trickled out quietly pre-Tramiel the 5200 was a dead issue. Wasn't Warner intending to just kind of sweep the 5200 under the rug push everyone to the 7800 instead?

Apparently pre-Tramiel Atari were planning to push out a few more titles for the 5200 (in addition to the 7800 adapter) before they pulled the plug. Tempest
Just wanted to bump this to ask if anyone has ever tired to make reproduction large atari silver 8-bit boxes? I'd love a Crystal Castles and Mario Bros. box for my collection. Of course you'd have to guess at what was on the back...
