5200 stopped powering up

Hello;

I'm new to this forum and hope somebody can answer this question. I purchased an Atari 5200 with 2 controllers and 3 games for 7 dollars at the thrift store. I came home hook it up and it worked perfect! Plugged in the first controller and the down function on the joy stick was not working (I expected it to not work). So I unplugged the controller and plug in the 2nd controller and the Atari won't power up anymore, NO! Anyway I am using an original Atari power supply (with the 2 port 5200 system). I don't know if its the power jack or some how the system just died. But if its some this internal is there any way I can use a switchbox (that was used on the 4 port system)? Just an idea. If anyone has any ideas I would be happy to listen. THANKS in advance.
