I think that the sticker indicates that this system can be used by 2 players. It might be part of the same text from the big sticker on the front of the box.

Dont you guys read the item description it says the "2" sticker is for the channel they use in Japan.

The console is basically the American version with different RF components to work on Japanese TVs. You can see the "channel 2" sticker on the top which is the channel they use in Japan, that or channel 1.
