patters98
I have a suggestion for Carl at Songbird: demos (not necessarily interactive) of the newer titles for the Lynx that would be viewable in Handy so we can get an idea of what the games are like before buying them. I'm curious about Championship Rally but I'd be reluctant to part with the cash unless I knew for certain it was fast and playable. Not having this kind of reminds me of the awful situation us old skool Lynx owners had (at least in Europe) when it was hard to find a magazine review of a new Lynx title and no shopkeeper would ever demo a cart. My brother and I would have to wait ages before we were allowed a new game and it used to be a blind leap of faith.
Songbird
That's exactly the reason I had posted the Remnant demo which is still available on the Remnant "Projects" page. It's a very eary and mostly non-playable version, but at least it shows the proof-of-concept. Obviously, I have not done this for the other games, but it's something to consider. I can put it on my list of 101 projects to do. In the meantime, you might simply want to ask for feedback from other fans on any games you're interested in. Ponx, Champ Rally, and CyberVirus in particular have been very popular with Lynx fans in the last few years.
CPUWIZ
Hey Carl, I think that is a pretty good idea, why don't you remove some data from the game, get rid of joystick control and record joystick activity (for 1 or 2 levels) to show off a game in demo mode and make a binary available. Just an idea...
