Finally, tons of PS1 titles coming

I'm sure this is everywhere. In summary:

"Capcom preparing to release between 20 and 40 PS1 and PSP titles via PSN"

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/04/capcom-p...and-psp-titles/

It will be nice to see and play the original Resident Evil 2 and possibly Dino Crisis?

I still wish some obscure titles like Tomba and Tiny Tank would come out.

Not to mention non FF Square titles that are now completely lost and forgotten on current consoles.

Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve etc..

:(

About time. The US and Euro stores are pretty starved. They just seem to be full of terrible forgotten EA games that no-one bought then.

Odd thing, Silent Hill was in the UK store a few weeks back. I didn't buy it straight away but came back a week or so later and it was gone! What's going on there? Was i imagining it?

Yeah I remember seeing it on the UK store. Its gone now?? What the hell. Thats the sort of thing that baffles me with Sony. What in the world are they doing?

I did want it and thought it would soon come out here in the US where I am, but now I have no idea.

I took a look at the Japan store and they are bursting at the seams with games.

Surely this is a chance for Squaresoft to make some easy money through old PS1 game sales. Everyone's been wanting FFVII for ages. I'd personally like them to release Xenogears. I imported it years ago but it never got a European release.

Heck, if this is the PSP's year (as Sony keep saying), then surely a few classic PS1 titles to play on it would be a system seller for quite a few people.

I just noticed the following PS1 titles in the Playstation store:

R-Type Delta

What??

::rushes to power on his PS3 and connect to the store.::

Edit: Can't download it. Gives me an error everytime I try.

Edit again: It finally downloaded. The internet connection has been acting screwy ever since I did the system update the other day to download the crummy Marvel Vs Capcom 2 demo.

Most of those have been out for a long time. The only new releases have been the three you mentioned earlier. The rest came out on PSN between late 2006 and late 2008 and aren't the mass release of Capcom titles that is rumored.

Or were you just recapping what's presently available on PSN?

Are the R-Types worth it? I have a lot of PS1 games but never tried those. I'm familiar with R-Type but haven't played any PS1 versions.

The great thing I have to say is that these games are only $5.99

R-Types is "just" the original two arcade games. $6 for it is a much better price than the $15 they're charging for the XBL version.

As for R-Type Delta you can view some of it's gameplay here.

But R-Type Dimensions on XBLA is a much nicer package than the simple ports on the R-Types disc. If you don't have either and are going to get one or the other, I'd say R-Type Dimensions is the better one to go for.

Just modded my PSP. Ridge Racer 4 on a handheld is AWESOME. The PS1 emulation on this thing is brilliant. Only downside is that there's no Analog. You can use the thumbstick but it's just digital. Gonna dump Ace Combat 3 on it next.
