82atari5200
The drive will read disks fine but when it comes to formatting a drive it keeps giving me a bad disk error. Tried them in another 1050 and it worked fine any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Rybags
What about saving a file? Might just be that the write protect switch is dirty and it thinks the disks aren't write-enabled. Also, first port of call for any old drive is to check/clean the head - you'll easily be able to see if it's dirty or not.
82atari5200
Figured it out. There was some corrosion on the write protect emitter scraped it off and everything works flawlessly. Now if I can get my 1010 to stop receiving the local classic rock station I'd be in business.
