flicky
Hi everyone Steve (filecore) has recently uploaded some photos of old retro meets to www.flickr.com. You might see the odd familiar face, looking considerably younger! Steve has pics from the first couple of Eurocon events, these are from the first one held in Holland in January 1999: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sincil/sets/72157619243397148/ These are from the second Eurocon held in the UK in October 2001 (also links to other people's pics here): http://www.flickr.com/photos/sincil/sets/72157619186432891/ Finally, these are from a UK event called Britmeet held in Milton Keynes in June 1999: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sincil/sets/72157619118477355/ Ah, the memories. Rom Hunter
Funny. I grew up in Broek in Waterland, the place where the first Eurocon was held.

I still think it was the best con Cheers, Marco It was awesome to meet all the people you only knew from newsgroups. Out of sudden they got a face and voice. And remember the bunch of Dollar notes everyone had:)

Jek
10 years of Eurocon ... Great pictures! Wonderful events every time and the first is now 10 years ago. I get old.... This thread reminds me that we urgently have to set up a web-source, that preserves Eurocon history. I started a webproject but never finished it. Perhaps I have a new setup til Eurocon in Vienna (October 23rd to 25th, 2009) I am sure I see you all there. And I promise to wear nicer clothes than on the pictures from EuroCon 1999 :-) Jens

ccc---
This thread reminds me that we urgently have to set up a web-source, that preserves Eurocon history. That is a great idea! Would be great if you/we could use the eurocon.info website for that. I can help out with photos and story of Eurocn (Austrocon) 2002 in Vienna.
