I think the toughest challenge with a port of Tron would be the control scheme.

Mitch

well they could make a holder to accomodate a paddle controller on one side and a joystick on the other kinda like the ones they used to have for the 5200 so you could play space dungeon and games like robotron would work pretty good.

in fact here is a picture of one with the space dungeon game:

You forgot Millipede, it even had a number, CX7812. ;)

Moon Patrol is a personal fave, and the 7800 would be perfect for that. I wish I had the time to port that game someday, I am good with Z80 assembly so the original code wouldn't be a problem. I believe the 7800 version would play very close to the original and the graphics would be spot on as well.

There's a scrolling demo of Moon Patrol that someone made. I think it was mostly just to show Parallax Scrolling on the 7800.

Welcome aboard, Eduardo. If you and GroovyBee ever teamed up, I can't imagine the extent of the goodness that would come forth!

I am checking the 7800 docs, as well as disassembling Millipede arcade. The 7800 uses a kind of weird video scheme, but I think I can get the hang of it. Working with the 7800 would be interesting, as that would be an opportunity to improve my 6502 skills, allowing me to port some 6502 games (especially Atari) for the ColecoVision while at the same time porting Z80 arcade titles (Konami, Namco, Taito, Bally, Sega, Nintendo, etc) for the 7800. Cross development would be great.

If things work out, I would have a mold for 7800 cartridges done next year, and I already have a source for silver printing in place (real silver printing, not gray). So let’s see how things develop, I am quite busy right now with the Super Game Module, and should stay like that for the rest of year...

And in the meantime Curt can give us the 7800 expansion module. ;)
