Goochman
Check around here but I think you'll have better luck with 2600 programming on your PC than 8bit - I dont know of any way to hook up an 800 to a 2600 for what you're looking to do sorry
Thelen
I think I have seen a development system (a picture on the web) where a 2600 cartridge port was connected with some hardware to the 4 joystick ports of an atari 800. don't know where i saw it... slapdash
I want to know if it is possible and if it is than could i program 2600 carts There were development systems back in the day, but I don't think you're very likely to find one (I never have). Moreso, if you're trying to build a RAM cart or even just burn EPROMs, you're probably better off going with a modern PC like someone else said. But beyond that, is it possible? Probably. Depends on exactly what you want to do, and after that, how much time & money you're willing to spend.
