The STE and Music

Hi,

My handle is johann and have only recently joined, however maybe because I am new I am looking in the wrong place but I cannot find too much about the STE version of the Atari.

I had one for years, and did so because at the time it was( and still as far as I know) the only computer that had built in MIDI ports.

As a muso, that was very important to me, and although I now have a standard PC I still had to go out and purchase the MIDI gear to be able to use it for my music.

In the 80,s I did quite a bit of demonstrating for Atari in the West to show what MIDI was all about.

In those days most of the software was built around Atari, and I have a very good collection still sitting here.

I have yet to find a good emulator to be able to make use of any of it.

Even Now, there are no programs like Gempatch by HYbrid art that can be used with most synths.

This particular program allowed one to make a good collection of voices for most types of synths, so I weould really like to be able to get into the disc,s I have and get the voices out again.

If anyone is looking for music software you are welcome to drop me a line, perhaps there is someone out there who knows of a really good emulator program, I have tried Winston, Pacifist, and tosbox but they screw up like crazy and dont work like the Atari.

In all honesty, I hav no clues as to where you could even purchase an STE?
