patters98
I've come across the same fault in both Lynx IIs that I have where the top set of A+B buttons can be pushed into the casing a bit. The plastic that they are mounted on flexes inwards. I've opened the shell up and basically there are two struts of plastic that are part of the rear of the unit which support the sheet of plastic on which all four buttons and the speaker are mounted. It's only properly anchored from the screen side, and relies on the struts to keep it from bending. The problem lies with the top strut (thinner so it can reach around the PCB). The point which it braces against (with the buttons on) is a really weak little bridge of plastic that's only about the thickness of a match stick - way too puny considering that the buttons are bound to take a pounding. It's broken off on both my Lynxes. Has anyone fixed this before?
RobDual
No but I seem to rmember that, I think thats one of the reasons I hated my gen2 lynx... Use some epoxy resin to re-inforce the backing or is there enough room for an extremely thin gauge of aluminum?
