Here is a text file I had found on a newsgroup. It's about an 8-bit game called Pleasure. I saw this game before, but I didn't know there was such a history/following behind it. I just thought it was a lame porno text adventure.

* There are at least three different versions of this game.

* #1: "PLEASURE", 211 sectors, includes graphic depictions of rape

and pedophilia not present in the other versions.

* #2: "PLEASURE.OBJ" 205 sectors.

* #3: "PLEASURE.COM" 101 sectors, a compressed version of #2.

 

* The author is unknown.

 

* The exact year this game was released is still a mystery, but it was

somewhere between 1985 and 1989.

 

* Was written using AdventureWriter.

 

* Plays a poor rendition of "Mary Had a Little Lamb" at the start-up

screen. Why this is I have no fucking clue.

 

* Typing SCORE will show you your current score; typing TURNS will show

you how many turns you have taken; typing I will take inventory.

 

* You can save your game by typing SAVE GAME, and restore it later by

* The game recognizes several synonyms for both nouns and verbs. For

example, instead of typing GIRL you could use LADY, WOMAN, WHORE,

BITCH, or SLUT.

 

* The game understands the noun DILDO, yet there is no dildo anywhere

in the game. It also understands TITFUCK as a verb, but doesn't

actually let you do it.

 

* The author of this game is undoubtedly a racist. The game allows you

to refer to the black woman as a "nigger", and to the Oriental woman

as a "Jap" or a "chink".

 

* The name of the Oriental woman is Mei Ling.

 

* The author doesn't have a very firm grasp of the English language.

The game is riddled with bad grammar and dozens of spelling errors.

 

* Directional error: in the secret passage, you are told to go southwest

in order to return to the bedroom. According to the map (and common

sense), you should be going southeast.

 

* At the time this game was released, it was illegal to even write

descriptions involving sex with children. This may be why the "baby

fucking" scene was removed from two of the versions.

 

* Although the origin of the author is unknown, he is most likely from

Michigan or Ohio. The game has been reported being on several BBSes

from these two states.

 

* Was frequently downloaded during the time of its release, but was

seldom talked about in any forums. Even now, it is still impossible

to find any information about this game on the Internet.

 

* Was sold at computer shows and Atari conventions in the late 80s and

early 90s for anywhere between $1 and $5.

 

* This is most likely the first and only walkthrough available of this

game.
