I worked on making this for about 6-7 hours yesterday. It's a 29x29 crossword puzzle. Previously the biggest one I've ever made was a Christmas-themed 26x26 one. I've attached it if you are bored and want to do it. These are really hard to make. First off, I went into Word, made a 29x29 table and printed it out. Then comes the hard part. The way I decide the shape is I free-style it. I don't really have a pattern in mind until I start making it. I usually start at the middle left hand side and then try to replicate the pattern on the right hand side. Then, I spread out until I have covered the whole grid. After that, I go back into Word and my 29x29 table, press "Prt Scr", and then post the screenshot in Paint. After having nothing but the table in the shot, I black out the black squares and number the clues. This time around, it took about 17 minutes! Another hard part is making clues up, but that's not as hard as making the puzzle itself. And yet...
