Thank Goodness It's Friday! Joe Friday, that is. I'm starting a review section for 1950s TV DVD packs. There aren't very many out there, though. This first one you might have guessed is for Dragnet, the '50s version of Cops only with scripts. Found at FYE for only $20, this package from Madacy Entertainment Group contains 5 discs. As you might have guessed from such a little-known company, there are some mistakes. For example, in Disc 1, the fifth episode is actually listed as the first, which makes the first one the fifth. Disc 2 seems fine, I have yet to check discs 3-5. This package has 25 episodes from 1952-58, although most of them are between 1952-54. Aside from the production mistake, the discs have great artwork and an actual menu from which to select episodes (and, if you're really bored, there's also the standard "Play All" option.
