CincYnoTi
Atari boards and Atari eproms and Atari shells. Eprom image burned by? Best sold these for years until their inventory ran out. There has always been a debate whether the images on the eproms were burned by Atari or not. Best bought vast quantities of stuff direct from Atari. They put these "prototypes" (board/eprom/image) into empty shells and stuck a warranty sticker on top. Some stickers were this blue oval, some were white squares. A few shells were this see-through variety, some were black, many had 7800 Pole Position or random labels on them. Some Quadruns were the released version, some were earlier WIP versions. Jerry Greiner used to sell this exact style of prototypes (on Atari2600.com and in his catalog prior to that) along with some sort of guarantee or "Certificate of Authenticity". Most people believe what they want to believe whether these are prototypes or not.
