+davidcalgary29
Can someone comment on the quality of this game? Several sites (ok, vendors) list this as a "must-have".
Tempest
I only have the 5200 version but I assume they're identical. If so then I'd say it's a must have. It's awesome and very close to the arcade version. If you liked the arcade version then you'll like this version. Tempest
Goochman
Pretty good translation as I remember, though IM not a Super Pac Fan
NE146
My experience with it is the difficulty seems to ramp up a lot faster than it did in the arcade. But a great translation notwithstanding.
The Night Phantom
I like both the arcade game and the Atari 8-bit version. The only drawback is that seeing all those treats in the maze stirs my cravings.
Callipygous
Excellent version. Best of all, it is complete, unlike many unreleased games. A "must have" ? If you are Pac-Maniac, yes.
AtariGuy
One of my favorites! I used to play it quite a bit, and still load it up from time to time.
Agent57
One of my faves for the 8-bits. Once you get past the fact that it doesn't quite look like the arcade game, you'll be in for many hours of fun. Playability is excellent and I would agree that it is a "must-have". Still can't believe this was never released for the 8-bits...yikes.

Still can't believe this was never released for the 8-bits...yikes. I read the story somewhere on the net. The programmer, Landon Dyer IIRC, worked on it during the time of the Tramiel takeover. The good part was that he was really left alone during the chaos. Without a real deadline he spent time perfecting the program. Just shows what can be done when a progammer is allowed to complete and refine his work. The bad part of course was when he left, Atari just let the whole thing slip through the cracks, apparently unaware of what he had done. mos6507
I thought there was a bug in Super Pac where you could get into situations where you could not unlock all the barriers, hence a dead-end in the game. I know I got stuck along those lines when I last played it. Maybe I just sucked?
