I was thinking about this last night while working on a new arcade interface board I'm finishing up. What I may actually do for CC2 compatibility is put a jumper on the Expansion module to hard disable the HSC portion of it if a CC2 is used with it and do some testing, this way there will be a way to ensure that the CC2 will work with the new Expansion module.

The Cuttle Cart and the Expansion Unit together is a marriage made in heaven.

Add in some awesome new games that take advantage of Expansion Unit and 512K settings in Cuttle Cart, and you've got pure bliss!

Now all we need are new cartridge boards that deal with larger sizes ... 256, 384, 512, 640K etc. But that's for another year!

The expansion module will use the force (which is strong in the CC2) to detect its presence and then it won't enable the expansion module HSC.

Wouldn't the CC2 be able to emulate everything that's going to be included in the expansion module? Obviously new banking files would need to be written for the new modes but what else would not be feasible?
