Hi all. I'm new here and also a big lover of the good old atari's.

I was wondering if hooking up my 2600jr. to a lcd hd ready tv instead of a normal t.v. would

have any influence on the colours or picture layout? I'm only using a rf cable.

It might not work at all. I use a very old and dilapidated CRT television for my 2600 (light six switch) and the picture comes through almost crystal clear, same for a 2600 jr I got recently too. However, I tried a different Jr on a flat screen TV , brand new LCD etc, the picture quality is about as low as you can get without it being unplayable. I've heard alot of reports that some flat screen televisions just dont work at all with Atari consoles.

Forget these modern things, stick to a nice old CRT from the 1970's, if functional it's guaranteed to work with your Atari.

If you do get it working the colours shouldn't be different, they will only be affected by the television's own colour settings. Other than that only turning the colour adjustment potentiometer inside the console itself will change anything (or using an NTSC cart on a PAL console and vice versa)

If you can get your hands on one of the longhorn AV mod boards (Basically impossible to get in contact with him) this will work sweet on a LCD TV using the S-Video output. I could not believe the quality of the picture on my 42" LCD. Actually got my hands on the mod from another member on this board. Have contacted Longhorn many times to order more with no response at all.

How do you "fine tune" a digital tuner?

i dont literally mean fine tuning but just playing around with the auto search and the manual search on the tv.

i found the best pucture i could. I was just looking on the internet and was wondering what is a av mod? is it

just a cable or is it something you have to open up the atari for? is it something to improve the picture?
