godzillajoe
So I got my 7800 back today and in general I love the mod. A bit of color bleed in some places but overall, it looks awesome. What kills me though is the CC2 menu is all garbled now. Anyone else experience this? Bit of bleed in 7800 SI Pac-Man has never looked better Go Fish looks nice. The moire effect is from the picture. GroovyBee
Can you try external RAM using games like Jinks, Tower Toppler or my demo of Tempest? Its looks like an address/data line problem with MARIA.

Longhorn Engineer
What I have found out is that the 7800 mod and cuttle cart both draw allot of power. So sometimes you get garbled stuff. There has been only one reported case so I didn't know if this was a issue or just a one off. The mod works fine with my Harmony Cart which I assume uses less power then the cuttle cart but thats 2600 side only. If you have a multimeter measure the 5 volt line when the cuttle cart is in and see what it reads.

godzillajoe
Jinks is fine. And I don't have a multimeter to test anything Will this harm the cart or the system? I guess I can live with it if not Or is there a "fix" ?
GroovyBee
Jinks is fine. What about the other games? Will this harm the cart or the system? You might experience random crashes. Its difficult to say. Or is there a "fix" ? You could replace the 5v regulator with one that can deliver higher current. You'd probably also need to replace the plug in PSU if you did that. You could also think about replacing the regulator smoothing capacitors with larger value ones.
Tempest
My CC2 and mod have had no problems. I didn't test the same games you did though, I'll have to do that. Tempest
godzillajoe
Tower Toppler is also fine. I don't have Tempest.
GroovyBee
Tower Toppler is also fine. I don't have Tempest. Binary available here :- http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/159728-7800-tempest/ I'm not sure why your CC2 menu display is corrupted . You could also try Plutos, Sirius and Winter Games because they all use the CC2 RAM too.
godzillajoe
I'm also gonna try nuking the card and rebuilding the menu / roms.
godzillajoe
Just realized I was using composite and not s-video (both plugged in but input mode was set incorrectly on the TV) S-Video is crystal clear and no bleed on my 42" LCD
