SlowCoder Posted August 13, 2010 Share Posted August 13, 2010 As stated before, I'm not an electronics expert, but I have a light-sixer with that appears to be some sort of fix or mod. I'm guessing it's a mod because I see the same thing on both controller connections. It looks like someone applied a diode to pin 5 (or it might be pin 9). Anyone know what this might be? A.J. Franzman Posted August 14, 2010 Share Posted August 14, 2010 That's the "mandatory" static-discharge protection mod for six-switchers found in the Field Service Manual. This is the first time I've ever seen one that I didn't perform myself. Its presence means that the console was previously serviced, by someone who did what they were supposed to (I've opened up lots of consoles with the red "Atari Service" stickers, that didn't have the mod.
