I love news.google and books.google for that stuff. Thanks for the link!
DracIsBack
Yeah - I love Google News now! I used to go and look at microfilm in the library but this makes looking at old articles that much cooler! Here's another full page ad showing an Atari promo crossing the three systems. While the Tramiels get blasted for 'not advertising', I think people often forget that they did a fair bit of retail advertising (none of these flyers are free and all of them hit a large audience) in lieu of magazine and television ads. http://news.google.ca/newspapers?id=ifcaAAAAIBAJ&sjid=i0cEAAAAIBAJ&dq=atari%20xe&pg=5189%2C3118493
Almost Rice
I do not remember much advertising except on TV.
Chuck D. Head
Dang it, you'd think they would have mentioned 2600 compatibility. That's probably why I bought a Jr. at the time, I sure would have ponied up the difference for a 7800 if I had known back then. littleman jack
Thanks for the link. I didn't realize that Target has been around that long. I must have been spaced out. I lived near there in the 1980s. I don't ever remember seeing a 7800 either until much later. However, I do remember checking out the 5200s at Toys R Us. Madaracs
Thanks for the link. I didn't realize that Target has been around that long. Target has been around since 1962. I was born and raised in Minneapolis (The first Target was in Roseville, MN) so to me there has never been a time they didn't exist! One of my first paying jobs was working for Target. Innovative Leisure
Cool! It looks like Target used a 1984 Warner photo for the ad.
