+wood_jl
The short deal is: I don't have enough time for this. I hardly use my A8s and ST. Plus my C64 is kind of on the fritz and I don't want to rack up another closet-full of spares. I shouldn't have ordered this, but I did. I don't want to ship internationally, because I just want to get rid of it and move on, and they're already available internationally. To a real Commodore 64 power user (who grew up with the machine, or who has time to play with it) this is totally awesome. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280564456751 Edited September 19, 2010 by wood_jl
eightbit
It's a cool device, but why ebay with it? Why not just sell it here in the marketplace? I would have taken it for a decent price.
+wood_jl
It's a cool device, but why ebay with it? Why not just sell it here in the marketplace? I would have taken it for a decent price. I couldn't come up with a price. Usually, I'd say used (common) electronics are worth 1/2 their new price, unless it's rare - either by virtue of being old and rare, or just plain rare. The 1541U2 is kind of rare. If the maker builds more, maybe not too rare, but would it ever be considered "common?" Then the Euro value changed (relative to my dollar price) too. This became too complicated, so I decided to start the auction at about 1/2 new price and let "the market" (loose use of the term, I know) determine, and whatever it sells for (even if low) then so be it. I put a pic of the invoice up in the auction so everyone can see what I paid for it (in Euros) so I don't look like I'm trying to be a profiteer. The AA marketplace is a better place to sell Atari-related stuff, unless selling cheap; everything "Amiga" I put on Ebay sells rather quickly, but I had no interest in my Amiga floppy drives, which I was hoping to trade for Atari 850 printer/modem cables. The sensible solution is to sell them on Ebay and call Best or B&C with the proceeds. I figured the same applies to the 1541U2.
