Call me weird, but I like music from the '60s. I think it's the best decade, musically speaking. Makes me wish I was alive back then. Why the '60s? Well, I guess it's all the Beach Boys records my mom had while I was growing up. Most of them are still in the pantry. Then I got into the Beatles, and then I started listening to an oldie's station that is no longer operating (KKSN 97.1 FM, Portland Oregon.) Man, that brings back memories. They used to do traffic reports with the Jetsons theme in the background. This was all while I was a kid growing up in the '90s. The station made me get into Donovan, Herman's Hermits, Peter Paul & Mary, Mamas and the Papas, etc. And also, in the '80s, Dad taped a whole bunch of stuff of the Smothers Brothers' short-lived comeback special and subsequent (doomed) series. So that got me into getting Smothers Brothers records whenever I have a chance. If you ask me what my favorite '60s recording artist is,...
